Harry L. Hayden, 29 years old, a carpenter, and formerly a salesman here, died of pneumonia at the McFarland Hospital at Rolla Friday night. He went to Rolla 12 days ago to work as a carpenter on buildings of the new U.S. Army camp near Rolla, and became ill a week ago.
Mr. Hayden, who was single, resided with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lyman L. Hayden, 2000 Bloomfield Street. For more than three years, up to the past November, he was employed as a salesman for the Mullen Electric Shop, 108 North Main Street.
He was born at Allenville June 14, 1911, and the family lived there until moving to Cape Girardeau 10 years ago. He was a member of First Baptist Church here.
Mr. Hayden died at 9:15 o'clock last night. His parents, who were called there, were to return today. The body is to be brought to the Seabaugh Funeral Home here today.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been completed.
The young man is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Hayden; and three sisters, Mrs. August Teichman, 22 North Hanover Street, and Mildred and Peggy Jean Hayden, both at home.
