Illmo – Mrs. Lulu M. Thompson, 79 years old, died at her home in Illmo at 1 Monday afternoon. She was born June 29, 1889 in Cape County.
The former Miss Harmon married Fred Thompson Jan. 3, 1909. He died Jan. 16, 1854. Mrs. Thompson had lived in the Illmo area since 1934.
Surviving are six sons, Walter Thompson, Illmo, Olie Thompson, Ogallala, Neb., Merrill Thompson, Memphis, Tenn., Mason Thompson, Whitewater, Lois Thompson, Scott City, and Harold Thompson, Jackson, Mich.; Three daughters, Miss Myrtle Thompson and Mrs. Goldia Carroll of Illmo, and Mrs. Claudine Caldwell, Cape Girardeau; a brother, Charles I. Harmon, Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Hayden, Cape Girardeau, and Mrs. Lillie Miller, Jackson; 31 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Thompson was a member of the First Baptist Church of Illmo. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 Wednesday afternoon at the Bisplinghof Funeral Home here with the Rev. B. G. Corn of Charleston Baptist Associational Missionary officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
