Mrs. Mary Ellen Brewer Weathers, 88, passed away on June 13, 2010 at Hospice of Cleveland County. She was born in Lincoln County on November 10, 1921 to the late James Ellis Brewer and Ellen Victoria Auton Brewer.
Mary retired from Fiber/Celanese Industries. She was a member of Ross Grove Baptist Church. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, crocheting, and crafts.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her late husband, Charles Marvin Weathers, her daughter, Lynda Price Dover, her son, Mike Charles Weathers, stepchildren, Carl Weathers, Ed Weathers and Gerry Weathers Jackson, and her brothers and sisters, Addie Ballard, Hazel Black, J.D. Brewer, Paul Brewer, Bryte Hurst and Lula Summey.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Sandra Weathers of Morganton, grandchildren, Andy Price of Gastonia, Heather Price Wolma of Boiling Springs, Sherry Weathers Houser of Vale, and Elizabeth Weathers Pearson of Morganton, her brothers and sisters, Ben Brewer , Bill Brewer, Virginia Paysour and Betty Woody of Dallas, Adrian Brewer of Lincolnton, Mollie Spivey of Lowell and Jack Brewer of Shelby. She is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be on Sunday, June 20, 2010 at 4 pm in the Chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home with Rev. Josh Hunt officiating. Receiving of friends will be held from 3:00 to 4:00 pm prior to the service at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home. Burial will be at Ross Grove Baptist Church.
