Helen A. Staggs,82, 1616 W. 11th St., died Sunday at her home after a short illness.
Mrs. Staggs was born in Lawrenceburg, Tenn., and attended schools there. She was a pastry cook for 22 years at Ball State University before retiring, and was a member of Full Gospel Temple Church and the Ball State Sympathy Club.
Survivors include a son, Keith Staggs (wife-Karen); a daughter, Effie Blackwood (husband-H.G.); two brothers, Bud Clift and George Clift (wife-Christine); eight sisters, Alice Davis, Mattie Waddel, Josephine Favors (husband-Clivas), Felicia Clift, Ola Barnett (husband-Bobby), Betty Smith (husband-Bill), Geneva Bennett (husband-Gene), and Linda Cotton (husband-Jimmy); a son-in-law, Wayne Drown; 12 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Her husband of 50 years, Gene Staggs, died in 1987. A daughter is also deceased.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Parson Mortuary. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory.
Calling will be 4-8 p.m. today and a half-hour before services Wednesday at Parson Mortuary.
Memorials may be sent to the Diabetes Association.
