Sterling L. Farnsworth, 72, of Mineral Wells, went to be with the Lord Nov. 16, 2009, from The Arbors in Marietta.
He was born May 23, 1937, a son of the late Herbal G. Farnsworth and Delcie (Kimble) Farnsworth. He was a member of the Davis Memorial Wesleyan Church. He worked at Brockway Glass for 31 years and retired from Johns Manville after four years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Ruby D. (White) Farnsworth of Mineral Wells; daughter; Teresa L. Jones and husband, Gary, of Belpre; daughter, Jenny Deem and husband, Rodney, of Parkersburg; son, Craig Farnsworth and wife, Joella, of Columbia, S.C.; son, Joe Whytsell and wife, Christina, of Mineral Wells; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Doris Nestler of Vienna, Glenna Peterson of Wisconsin and Juanita Johnson of Walker; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg, with Ronald Drillien and Rick Boren officiating. Interment will follow at Parkersburg Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
