PASSES AWAY at HOME IN PORTER
Mrs. Anna Sophia Charlson , mother of six children passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hilda Samuelson, of Porter, Friday morning, Dec 21, at the age of ninety-one years and one month.
The deceased was born in Sweden Nov. 21, 1837. She was twice married, first tin 1860 to Carl Charlson. In 1868 she and her family came to America and the following year Mr. Charlson died. In 1870 she was untied in marriage to John Charlson, (his brother).
She had resided in Porter Co., for many years and for a time during her earlier life lived in Hobart.
Surviving her are three daughters; Mrs. Swan P. Carlson of Hobart, and Mrs Hilda Samuelson and Mrs. Ida Chellberg of near Chesterton; three sons, Charles, Victor and Oscar, all of whom live in Porter Co., ; one brother, Victor Swanson of Stanton, IA; thirty-three grandchildren and fourteen, great-grandchildren
The funeral was held on Sunday Dec. 23, at two o'clock in the Augsburg Ev. Lutheran church at Porter of which the deceased was a devoted member, the pastor, the Rev. Frederick Nordquist officiating.
Burial in Burstrom Cemetery.
