Louise Catherine married Jacob Lail Jr. a widower, 30 September 1883, and became stepmother to his two daughters by his first wife.
By 1910, Catherine had had ten children, nine of which were still alive.
Catherine, her husband, and children lived in the Lower Fork area of Burke County.
In 1920 Catherine was recorded on the Lower Fork Census as being 54 years old, living with her husband Jacob, two sons, and two daughters.
The 1930 Census shows that Catherine was now 66 years old, widowed, and living with her son Ed on a farm in Lower Fork, Burke.
After two years of declining health Catherine passed away on 28 October 1939. She was laid to rest the day after her death.
Different documents show various dates of birth. Her death certificate estimates her birth year to have been 1861. She could have been born anytime between 1860 to 1866.
