Born at the Barony, Prince William, York, New Brunswick, Canada, on 30 October, 1903, Laura was a daughter (of eight children) of William Ross Scott and Abigail "Abbie" Elizabeth (Fox). Six months after her mother's death, Laura immigrated to the United States, entering through Vanceboro, Maine, on 29 Dec., 1928. Her elder daughter, Mabel Marie King (Goodman), was born 03 Nov., 1930 at Franklin, Massachusetts, where Laura resided, until her death on 21 March, 1942. Laura's second daughter, Kathleen Marie "Bunny" King, was born on Easter Sunday, April 13, 1941. Laura died of Cancer, and is buried alongside her husband, Harold Burton King, at City Mills Cemetery, Green Street, Franklin, Norfolk County, Massachusetts.
