Felix Zoll Pulliam was born February 15, 1862, in Arkansas, the son of James F. and Jane Caroline Pulliam. In 1870, Felix was age 7 and living with his parents and siblings. The 1870 Federal Census for Hampton, Arkansas (Post Office Yellville) (Marion County) shows James F. Pulliam, age 33, a farmer, born in Tennessee. His wife, Jane C., was age 36, keeping house, born in Tennessee. Living in the household was: Sarah M., age 9; Felix Z., age 7; William F., age 5; Nancy E., age 3; and James H., age 1; all born in Arkansas.

In about 1888, Felix married Rusha Davis, who was born December 21, 1868, in Arkansas. They ultimately would have 10 children, of which 7 would survive: Martha Alice; Zolla A., Bertie J., Vanna; Ora; Consuelo and Carmen. All of the children were born in Arkansas. On June 17, 1895, President Grover Cleveland approved Homestead Application 14782 submitted by Felix Z. Pullman for 160 acres of land in Marion County, Arkansas. The legal description was: the south half of the north east quarter, the south east quarter of the north west quarter, and the north east quarter of the south west quarter of Section 23 in Township 17, north of range 17, west of the 5th principal meridian in Arkansas containing 160 acres. Homestead Certificate 10276 to this effect was signed by President Grover Cleveland.

The 1900 Federal Census for Prairie, Arkansas (Marion County) shows Felix Pulliam, age 38, born February 1862 in Arkansas, with both parents born in Tennessee. His wife, Rusia, was age 32, and born December 1867 in Arkansas, with a father born in Arkansas and a mother in Missouri. The census shows that Felix and Rusia had been married for 12 years, and that they had 6 children, of which 3 were still living. Living in the household were Marthy A., age 7, born December 1891; Zolla A., age 3, born January 1897; and Bertie J., age 9 months, born August 1899; all born in Arkansas.

The 1910 Federal Census for Prairie, Arkansas (Marion County) shows Jefferson Pulliam, age 48, a farmer, born in Arkansas with both parents born in Tennessee. (no explanation was provided for Felix being called Jefferson). His wife, Rusia, was age 42, born in Arkansas, with a father born in Arkansas and a mother in Missouri. The census shows that Felix and Rusia have been married 21 years, and that they had 10 children, of which 6 were still living. Living in the household were Alice, age 17; Zollie, age 13; Bertie, age 10; Vonie, age 5; Ora, age 3; and Consuelo, age 10 months. His wife, Rusia, was age 52, born in Arkansas, with a father born in Kentucky and a mother in Missouri. Living in the household were: Bertie J., age 20; Vanna, age 15; Ora, age 12; Consuelo, age 10; and Carmen, age 4; all born in Arkansas.

The 1930 Federal Census for Precinct 1, Texas (Terry County) shows Jefferson Pulliam, age 68, a farmer, born in Arkansas. His wife, Rushia, was age 62, born in Arkansas. Living with them was a daughter, Carmen, age 14, born in Arkansas.

Felix died on May 20, 1935, in Lexington, Oklahoma (Cleveland County), and was buried there in the Lexington Cemetery. Rusha died on January 9, 1966, in Lexington, and was buried in the Lexington Cemetery beside her husband.
