Ardis Sylvia Krahmer was born May 10, 1922, to Frank Abraham and Louise Amanda (Ask) Krahmer in Fraser Township. They farmed in Fraser, Martin County and Ardis attended Fairmont School and Madelia High School. At Madelia High, she played clarinet and excelled in band. On July 18, 1939, she was united in marriage to Victor Charles Perrine at Estherville, Iowa. After their marriage, they farmed near Madelia in partnership with Victor's father, Eugene, until moving to a farm near Sebeka, Minnesota. They farmed there until purchasing 40 acres near Wadena and farmed that until moving to a 180-acre farm in the Fairmont-Welcome area to farm with Ardis' father, Frank Krahmer. They raised livestock and crops and after retiring in 1982, they moved into Welcome.

Ardis was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome. She was a member of National Farmers Organization and a charter member of the Martin County NFO, which was organized in the 1960s and she served as secretary for several years. Ardis enjoyed reporting the Welcome news and weather on KSUM Radio and gathering and writing the Welcome news for the West Martin Weekly and The Star for many years. She also enjoyed being a volunteer and helping children learn to read at the Welcome school.
Ardis was kind-hearted, and a loving wife and mother. She was thoroughly grateful for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was talented at cooking and baking bread, pies, cakes, and making lefse (potato cakes)…all from scratch without using a recipe. Ardis appreciated the fruit trees, flower gardening, and watching things grow. She enjoyed raising puppies, goats, rabbits, poultry, peacocks and a variety of animals.
Ardis is survived by her seven children: Orvin Perrine and his wife, Rory of North St. Paul, Melvin Perrine and his wife, Diane of Wyndmoor, PA, Anita Burgess of Clearwater, FL, Richard Perrine and his wife, Becky of Sherburn, Larry Perrine and his wife, Peggy of Brandon, SD, Rita Williams and her husband, Todd of Welcome, and Sylvia Perrine of Homosassa Springs, FL; 16 grandchildren, and (17 great-grandchildren): Mark, Mike & Michelle (David, Kyle, Cassandra, Sarah, Tiffany), Bob & Christy (Jocelyn, Courtney, Alexander, Britney), Sharon & Medlen Arevalo (Noah, Claudia), Carolyn, Amy, Todd & Laura Burgess, John & Melissa Burgess (Abby, Isabel), Matt & Sarah (Julia, Ryan), Jessica & Mark Goldsberry, Mandi Perrine & Jay Schomberg (Ivy), Gabrielle, Holli & Cody Finke, Kristal & Josh Krohn (Khloe), Cody Williams, Kelsey Williams; sisters-in-law, Shirley Krahmer of Truman, Mable Nagel of Pacific, MO; brother-in-law, Jim Perrine and his wife, Dorothy of Sebeka, and other relatives and friends.
