Delbert C. Best, 86, died at 11 pm Monday, Dec. 23, 1991, in rural Lafayette home, following a six-month illness. Born in Tippecanoe County on Jan. 7, 1905, he lived here all of his life. He married Esther R. Smith in Otterbein on April 25, 1928; she died Sept. 13, 1990.
Mr. Best retired in 1970 after working at Fairfield Manufacturing Co. for 35 years. He worked on the straightening line. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sons and two daughters, Donald E. Best, Charles A. Best, Mary Henson and Marjorie (Mrs. John) Deeming, all of Lafayette; a brother, Cecil L. Best of Otterbein; 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
