Lt. Reynolds Rites to be Held Thursday

JACKSON, March 25. – Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Thursday afternoon for First Lt. Henry L. Reynolds, 28 years old, who died March 10 in England as a result of an airplane crash. The body will arrive here Thursday, escorted by First Lt. Charles Tejirian.
Rites will be held at First Baptist Church with Rev. L. A. Greene Jr. in charge. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with McCombs service and full military rites.
Lt. Reynolds is survived by his wife, the former Miss Virginia Headrick, and son, age 6. They were in England at the time of his death and have returned to this country. He also leaves his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ora Reynolds of near Cape Girardeau and a half sister, Mrs. John Kuehn Jr. of Jackson Route 3.

JACKSON, March 27 – Sixteen second lieutenants, sergeants and one private first class from Scott Air Base came Thursday afternoon for the funeral of Lt. Henry Reynolds. Eight second lieutenants were pallbearers, seven of the firing squad and one bugler, who sounded taps from the hilltop of Memorial Park Cemetery, where burial took place after the funeral service at First Baptist Church. Rev. L. A. Greene was in charge and McCombs Funeral service directed. The Airmen encountered motor difficulties at St. Mary's and abandoned the bus to make the remainder of the trip in private cars sent there for them. There was only a slight delay.
Woodrow Godwin, accompanied by Mrs. G. H. Schoen, sang, at the church. Lt. Charles Tejirian was the escort. Lt. Reynolds enlisted in 1943 and died March 10 after an accident a Wheatly Field, near London, England, a member of the 20th Fighter Bomber Wing.
