Trinity Church has been razed per my visit in May 2011.
John is my 2nd Great Grandfather.
John. C. Statler is listed in the 1890 Veteran's Schedule. A newspaper article names him in February 1897, so he was still living then. I believe he died between February 1897 and 1900 (my grandmother remembered his death in that time frame.)
He was married to Mahala Seabaugh on 16 Mar 1848 in Cape Girardeau County.
He served in the 56th Missouri Cavalry from 7 Aug 1862 until 1 Dec 1864 according to the 1890 Veteran's Census.
Father of nine children:
Elizabeth Mahala Statler 1848 - Before 1882
Henry Statler 1849 - 1849
Mary Polly Statler 26 May 1853 - 1 Jul 1941
James Joseph Statler 16 Jul 1854 - 6 Mar 1932
James Henderson Statler Jul 1855 - After 1900 "Retarded"
Adaline Stater 1859 - Before 1870
John Henry Stater 25 Feb 1862 - 25 Jun 1944
Ephram L. Statler 26 Mar 1866 - 20 May 1951
Eli Wilson Statler 3 Nov 1869 - 24 Jun 1952
