He is survived by his wife, Mary Holloway Meriwether; six daughters, Debbie Meriwether of Holiday, Fla., Joan Hackett of Kansas, Cindy Vernon of Florida, Vickie Sweeney of Japan, Patricia Meriwether of Carmi, Ill., and DeLaney Meriwether of Jackson, Miss.; three sons, Donald Meriwether of Raleigh, N.C., Edwin R. Meriwether of Ozark and David Meriwether of Denver; three sisters, Dorthy Birdsong of Mobile, Ala., Martha Jasmer of Bradeton, Fla., and Judy Smedley of Burke, Va.; and 15 grandchildren.
