Mr. Adams was born Dec. 8, 1932, in Johnson County, the son of the late Thurmun and Ollie Mae Castle Adams.
He was retired from the Johnson County Sheriff's Department and was a Korean War Army veteran.
He is survived by a son, Les Adams of Cynthiana; two daughters, Anita Sue Carson and Debra Mae Simmons, both of Cincinnati, Ohio; two brothers, Robert Adams of River and Darrell Adams of Cincinnati;three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m.Sunday at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home in Paintsville by Dick VanHoose and Bob Trimble.
Burial will follow in the Highland Memorial Park Cemetery at Staffordsville.
