Manoog Altoonjian, widely known businessman of Petoskey and St Augustine, FL died at the home of a nephew, Armen Kurkjian in Grand Rapids from a heart attack.
The body will be taken to the family winter home in St Augustine where the funeral will be held and burial will take place in the family lot in the St Augustine cemetery, beside the body of his wife who died last year.
Mr. Altoonjian and daughters Flora and Marjorie were enroute to St Augustine. Another daughter, Mabel and a son George, had remained in Florida during the summer, operating the family store there.
Born in Paloo, Armenia, Mr Altoonjian came to New York as a young man and nearly 50 yrs ago came to Petroskey. As a partner of the late V. Guleserian, they erected two business blocks. The partnership was dissolved in 1909 and since then Mr. Altoonjian operated stores here and in Florida.
He was a member of the Methodist church and of Petrosky Lodge of Elks.
