GASTONIA - Betty Dixon Wilson, 78, of Abingdon Place, formerly of Lowell, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 15, 2009.

She was born Oct. 5, 1930, the daughter of A. H. and Mary J. Dixon of Lowell.

She was a homemaker, a loving mother, grandmother and sister. She loved the Lord and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Betty was a member of Lowell Free Will Baptist Church. She enjoyed going to church and having family time with her children and grandchildren.

Her family wishes to thank Gaston Hospice and the Sixth Floor South Staff of Gaston Memorial Hospital for the great care of our mother and us.

VISITATION: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home in Bessemer City
GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Gaston Memorial Park, officiated by the Rev. Arson K. Dixon and the Rev. Ted Dixon (Betty's brothers), and Robbie Stinson (Betty's grandson-in-law).

She is survived by daughters, Gloria Jean Campbell, Myra Fair, Lynn Dixon and her husband Roger, and Renay Doby and her husband David; her only son, Michael Wilson and his wife Sandy; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; her brothers, Arson and Ted Dixon; and her sisters, Carolyn Griffin, Bobbie Kinley, Sue Cloninger, Shirley Roberts and Linda King.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Corky" Wilson; brothers, Rush and Harold Dixon; son-in-law, Jerry Fair.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Robbie Stinson, Joseph Campbell, Oliver Campbell, Brody Anderson, Todd Wilson, Terry Trakas.
