This is Auntie Patticake's memorial. Her passing is so fresh and we are all so numb ... she is very missed.

Auntie had a good sense of humor and you always knew if she liked someone or not. She made no bones about it. At her funeral, people commented on that fact. Apparently someone had to work hard to get back in her good graces and did so by getting beanie babies for her, or something like that.

She had a brother, that I never met due to his death from an auto accident. He is buried in the National cemetery and I would place flowers on his grave for her whenever I went there. She was friends with my mom and dad in high school and was eventually married to her high school sweetheart, Rick Martinsen (deceased), from Dorsey High in California. They had three daughters; Kathleen, Karen, and Kimberlee. She spent most of her life in Harbor City California. She did the typical things such as Brownies and Girl Scouts as the girls grew up. She sold Avon and Princess House crystal. In more recent years painted porcelain and collected things like beanie babies and lighthouses. She was fond of traveling and even did a lighthouse trip.

She worked for the Local Union 250
Steam-Refrigeration-Air Conditioning-Pipefitters & Apprentices of the United Association of the United States and Canada and was there running the finance office for over 30 years. She had retired less then two years when she was hit with a heart attack. Auntie survived and recovered for awhile before passing in May of 2010.

She was just about to make a move to Pismo Beach and had just bought a place there and was getting things like furniture and all the necessities of home.
