George W. Porter, 65, died early today at the home after a year's illness. He was a building inspector for the department of public works.
He was born in Garden Prairie, IL and had lived here about 25 years. he was a Mason and a member of St. Mary's Episcopal church.

He leaves his wife of the home, Mrs. Mary M. Porter; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Louise Stanley of KCMO, Mrs. Patricia Ann Robinson, St. Louis, MO. and Mrs. Willis J. Murphy, Salem, Oreg.; a son Keith Porter, Waukegan Il,; his mother, Mrs. Jennie Dodson, Inglewood CA; a sister Mrs. W. G. Sewell, Sun Valley, CA and five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Mellody-McGilley-Eylar chapel and at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Episcopal Church. Cremation
