Parents: William Gottfried Weissinger and Anna Elise Rohje (In German, the letter J has a Y sound, which causes some confusion. On their marriage document, Dec 27, 1871, her maiden name is definitely spelled ROHJE).

William Galloway Weissinger's given name was: Wilhelm Gottfried Weissinger, Jr.
His Parents were: Wilhelm Gottfried Weissinger, Sr. and his Mother was: Anna Elise Rohje.

We realize that he "Americanized" both his first and second name when he Registered for World War I. And we acknowledge that his first name is written as: WILLIAM, rather than Wilhelm on his headstone.

But according to our Family Bible Records, he was named after his Father, thus making him a Junior.

MAN HURT IN CRASH HERE DIES - W. G. WEISSINGER SUCCUMBS; TRAVIS TO BE CHARGED WITH MANSLAUGHTER - WILLIAM G. WEISSINGER, 45 years old, who suffered a fractured skull in an automobile accident on New Year's Day, died at 5:50 o'clock Sunday morning at the Jewish Hospital. Charles J. Travis, 2146 Alta Avenue, driver of the car that Weissinger is said to have struck, will be re-arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter, the police declared. Travis was arrested after the accident and later released. According to Travis, Weissinger failed to make a boulevard stop before entering Eastern Parkway from Norris Place and the crash resulted, in which eight persons were injured. Weissinger is survived by his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth M. Weissinger; two sisters, Miss Louise M. Weissinger, of Glenview; and Mrs. J. W. Lochner; and a brother, Ernest Weissinger, of Los Angeles, Calif. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 o'clock Tuesday morning at the residence and at 10 o'clock at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery. Miss Nazarena Bauerle, 20 years old, and her sister, Miss Anna Bauerle, 21 years old, both of 950 Edwards Street, who were in the automobile with Weissinger at the time of the collision, and were seriously injured, were reported to be considerably improved Sunday night.
