Doris was the daughter of C. M. and Effie Mendenhall Ward. She died at the age of 3 yrs from enteritis.

Doris Fern Ward was born in Cabool, Mo., July 15, 1934, died at her home in Yukon May 25, 1938, making her age 3 years, 10 months and 10 days.

She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charley Ward; one sister, Lynna, and two brothers, Charles and Bobbie. She died after a lingering illness.

Funeral services were conducted at the Big Creek church by Rev. Wilford Ice. She was laid to rest in Big Creek cemetery.

A precious one from us is gone; a voice we loved is stilled; a place is vacant in our home, which never can be filled. The golden gates were opened wide, a gentle voice said, "Come." and angels from the other side, welcomed our little Doris Fern home.
