Dale Patrice (James) Adams was born August 21, 1955, in Youngstown, Ohio to Curtis A. James, Sr. and Katie K. James. She entered eternal rest on September 16, 2009, after a long illness, in her home in the presence of God and family. Dale confessed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was baptized by Reverend William A. Clark at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Youngstown, Ohio.

Dale graduated from East High School in Youngstown, Ohio, received a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics from Kent State University, and a Master of Science degree in Public Administration from Central Michigan State University. Dale retired as an educator from the Columbus Public School System. In addition to her professional career, Dale enjoyed family gatherings, gardening, Sunday School, working with the Drama Club, and travel. She was initiated into her beloved Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated in 1975 and was a member of the local chapter, Alpha Sigma Omega. Dale also was a faithful and passionate member of Shiloh Baptist Church.

She married Leon Adams on July 21, 1979. This union was blessed with three children: Aisha, Halim and Alicia.

Dale was preceded in death by her father, Curtis A. James, Sr. In addition to her husband and children, she is mourned by her mother, Ms. Katie James of Youngstown Ohio; sister, Mrs. Veeda (Eugene, Jr.) Wise of Columbus, Ohio; brother, Dr. Curtis A. James, Jr. (Sandra) of Chicago, Illinois and sister, Ms. Andrea Hall of Youngstown, Ohio, a host of nieces, nephews, friends and beloved care giver, Ms. Alima Williams, whom Dale considered a daughter.
