GLADYS ABBE PARKER
Gainesville-Gladys Abbe Parker, 91, died Decembert 4, 2002, at Pecan Tree Manor in Gainesville.
She was born August 28, 1911 in Wapanucka, Oklahoma.
She married William Ralph Abbe on January 17, 1927.
In September 1977, she married Lawrence P. Parker.
She was retired from the Denton State School and later was a foster grandparent at the Denton State School.
She was a member of North Avenue Baptist Church in Whitesboro.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, December 6, at Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville. The Rev. Sammy Hughes will officate. Clement-Keel Funeral Home is in charge.
Survivors include five sons, Leon Abbe of Yukon, Oklahoma; Don Abbe of Denton; Gary Abbe of Sherman; Johnny Abbe of Lewisville and Mike Abbe of Pennsylvania; one daughter, Peggy Houlette of Whitesboro; two brothers, Lloyd Foster and Bud Foster both of Gainesville; one sister, Billie Jo Bruening of Arlington; two daughter-in-laws,
Margie Abbe of Denton; and Judy Luster of Gainesville; 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ralph Abbe, 1976 and Lawrence Parker, her parents, Wm. H. Foster and Myrtle Brown Foster; two sons, Lee Abbe and Ronnie Abbe; brothers, Bill Foster; Calvin Foster; sisters, Marie Liedtke and Alta Wright; three grandchildren.
