died last night [3-28] at Grandview Sanitarium; he was ill 2 years. He had been a mechanic for the fire department & formerly worked at National Transit Co. At time of death had auto repair shop on Seneca St.
Surviving wife Belva Bates, 2 daus: Helen Regan-Erie; Gertrude Henderson-Detroit; 2 grandchildren-Gladys & Jack Regan-Erie; 3 sis: MrsTina Lane & MrsLH First-OilCity; MrsEE Olson-Latrobe. Funeral arrangements not yet made.
DAVID---(Derrick 4/1 pg3): The funeral for David Bates was held at Osenider Funeral Home Rev Thomas Koontz, First Presbyterian Church officiated. Interment in Grove Hill Cem. Members of the Oil City Fire Dept served as pallbearers.
