MARCH 31, 1932 – MARCH 21, 2009

ANDERSON, SC – Donald Marvin "Boo Boo" Herring, age 76, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2009, at his residence.

Born in Oconee County on March 31, 1932, he was a son of the late Odie Alexander Herring and Edna Virginia Burnette Herring. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Herring retired from Owens-Corning Fiberglas; he was a member of G.B.B.A., Local 15, where he formerly served as Union Shop Steward and Union President. He was a member of Homeland Park Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Ann Harbert Herrring; children: Martin Herring and wife, Katie B. Herring of Townville, Donna Ann McAlister and husband, Phillip McAlister of Anderson, Stanley Alan Herring and wife, Ramona Herring of Anderson, and Phillip "Rudy" Herring and wife, Bonnie Lynn Herring of Alpharetta, GA; brother, Keith Herring and wife, Claudia Herring of Chesapeake, VA; sister, Bobbie Jean Jones and husband, Ben Jones of Matthews, NC and Kay Frances Herring of Anderson; six grandchildren: Chad Martin Herring, Jeremy McCoy, Austin McAlister, Chelsea Herring, Corey Herring, & Allen Michael Herring; three great grandchildren: Annalisa Herring, Jacob Lee Hardy, and Chance McCoy.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Michael Alan Herring.

The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, March 24, 2009, in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home conducted by the Reverend Larry Cox. Interment will follow in New Silver Brook Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, March 23, 2009, at the funeral home.

The family is at the residence, 322 Corning Street.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to AnMed North Campus Infusion Center, c/o AnMed Health, 800 North Fant Street, Anderson, SC 29621.
