Named after a gentlemen named Jarrott Harris,it has been passed down several times to others in our family since Jarrott.
Born in Az. Territory Bisbee Az. Contracted phenomena on the way back to Ks.as a baby , He was getting very bad so they stopped the wagon at a Indian reservation and the native women gave him goats milk and herbs and he improved very rapidly . Jarrott always claimed he was not born in the united states as Az. was not a state yet . His freinds and wife called him Jerry.

Jarrott was a farmer to about 1950. He and his brother & father fabricated many of there own farm implements Daddy also had his own sawmill although we would have been considered by today's standards below middle class I now know now we were the richest family in the world.

He retired from Bendix Atomic Energy as a machinist after many years before that He worked in the aircraft industry and at Boeing during the war. After retirement He worked on built and repaired clocks.
Daddy always wore key overalls all though occasionally He dressed up.

At my sister wedding rehearsal he took me to the basement of the church were an old piano was I was amazed as he sat down and started playing it very nicely.

During my early child hood my daddy had to live in Kansas City to work and only came home on week ends leaving My mother and me alone on the farm. Some times I would just break out crying because I missed Him so much, and He never knew that I don't think. It was a big job for a 9 year old to look after a large farm.

Jarrott married Ida Emma Castle 14 Oct 1933 in Burlington Kansas.

At one time Jarrott and Bill Castle (Ida's brother) as young men operated a taxi cab service out an office in the First State Bank building in Pleasanton Kansas, and Thus Jarrott met his future wife Ida. The main clientele was people from the train station to near by towns such as Mound City, in those days most all the roads were dirt roads often mud roads full of ruts. Jarrott had many story's about those days. One was one time he was taking a lady to Mound City and she was constantly complaining to him about his driving,so he took the steering wheel off the old model T and handed it to her and said here you drive,of course the deep ruts in the road keep the car on course.

Jarrott is buried by his wife and his parents.

Married 10/14/1933 ( Eloped )Burlington, Coffee county Kansas. This is where Ida's brother was living at the time.
