Civil War Union Army Soldier. He was mustered in as a Sergeant in Company G, 121st Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry on August 23, 1862. He served until he was mustered out with his regiment on June 2, 1865.

After the war he became superintendent of the Ninth Ward Gas Works. He was a brother of Lieutenant Colonel William L. Curry of the 106th Pennsylvania Infantry.
