Obit: "Charles Grace, 83, Succumbs". Father of Fred Grace Dies at Home; Services Held Monday. Charles H. Grace, 83, died suddenly at his home, 407 Fifteenth Street NW, on Saturday morning from heart disease. He had been suffering from heart trouble for some time but had not been confined. He had resided in Mason City for the past 15 years. Mr. Grace was born in Scott County, Iowa, September 19, 1850. At an early age he moved with his parents to Ithaca, New York, where his boyhood was spent. Later he returned to Jefferson where he was married December 31, 1890, to Cora M. Porter. Mr. Grace was a carpenter but had been retired since moving to Mason City in 1919. Surviving Mr. Grace are his wife and son, Fred M. Grace of the Como Photo Company. Mr. Grace was a member of the Odd Fellows and Knights of Pythias Lodges. Funeral services were held at the Randall Funeral Home with Rev. William H. Spence, pastor of the First M.E. Church, in charge of the service. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery with Odd Fellows in charge of the ceremony at the grave.
