Miss Florence Perdew and Carl Graves of Upland were married a few days ago and will make their home in Upland. Miss Perdew was born and raised in Etiwanda, leaving for Upland about a year ago.They have the best wishes of her many Etiwanda friends.

Three New Members Initiated by Group
Three new members were initiated into the San Bernardino Society of Pioneers at its meeting in Pioneer Park log cabin, according to Edward C. Hamer, president.
They are Forest and Ernestina Perdew and Florence Perdew Graves.
Mrs. Lois Knuckey presented a check for the Pioneer Memorial Hall fund, given by the Native daughters of the Golden West.
A program of entertainment was provided by the Native Daughters and included Geraldine Mapes, yodeler; Randy Bliss, songs; Beverly McKeller steel guitarist; Mike Bliss, guitar and vocal solo; and group singing.

Florence Graves
Final rites for Florence P. Graves, 68, of 487 N. 11th ave., Upland, were held at 10:30 a.m.Monday at the Stone Funeral Home. Shaded on Wednesday at the Arlington Convalescent Hospital.
A native Californian, she had resided in Upland 54 years. She was a member of the Upland Fun After Fifty Club; former member of the Sons of Union Veteran's Auxiliary, the Red, White and Blue Club, and Pioneer Society. She attended Chaffey High School.
Surviving are a son Edward Frank Graves, Hesperia; three daughters, Mrs. Ernest (Ethel) Mathers, Ontario; Mrs. Chris (Frances) Zimmerman, Alta Loma; and Mrs. Jack (Elma) Wheatley, Trona; four sisters, Mrs. Harry Evans, Sun City; Mrs. Adam Bryden, Upland, Mrs. Hazel Lamb, San Bernardino, and Mrs. Louis Lamb, Lytle Creek; two brothers, Ralph Perdew, San Jacinto, and Ben Perdew, Ariz.; seven grandsons, two granddaughters and one great grandson.
Burial was in Bellevue Cemetery.
