State Representative David Coley who was a member of the FHP Auxilary for nearly 19 years holding the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Representative Coley died of liver cancer on Friday March 25, 2005 at Tallahasse Regional Hospital. He was a graduate of Murray State University began his career asd a Legislative Assistant to Congressman Bill Grant. He moved on to become the Chief Legislative Assistant to Representative Allan Bense (Florida's current Speaker of the House) until he was elected to the Florida House of Representatives, District 7, this past November.
David served as a invaluable member of the FHPA since November 19, 1986 through his efforts
The Florida Legislature has provided the FHPA an annual operating budget for uniforms, equipment and training. Representative Coley will lie in State from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM today in the House of Representatives at the Capitol. At 2:00 PM a memorial service will be held at the House. Funeral Services will be conducted at Chipola Community College in Marianna at 10:00 CST on Wednesday morning March 30th. David is survived by his wife, Marti, and their three children Kristen, Vance, and Hunter.
