Kenneth Eugene Bowers Sr. was born on July 17, 1944 in Frederick, a son of Glenn Franklin Jr. and Helen L. Smith Bowers and was the husband of 42 years to Dianne Kinna Bowers, Jefferson, who survives him.


He was a lifelong, and very active member of the Petersville Lutheran Chapel and served on the church council.


Kenneth was self-employed and an accomplished welder of Bowers Welding of Jefferson, the trade and proprietorship being handed down from his father.


He was a veteran of the US Army, having served six years in the Maryland National Guard.


He loved NASCAR races, and his favorite football team, the Washington Redskins.


In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Kenneth Eugene Bowers Jr. and wife Mary Lou, Boonsboro and Kelly G. Bowers and wife Robin, Jefferson, four grandchildren, Gabrielle, Schuyler, Aidan and Lander Bowers.


Kenneth is also survived by two sisters, Barbara Wenschhof and Patsy Eavey, sister-in-law, Joyce Shelmet, nephew, Marrhew Eavey and niece, Jessica Shelmet and other family members, Amber Phillips, Kyle James Sr., Kyle James Jr.


Funeral held at Stauffer Funeral Home, Brunswick with Rev. Muriel R. Heichler officiating and internment made in Saint Marks Church Cemetery, Petersville by Stauffer funeral directors.
