Son of Capus Turman and Lucille Dunlap Turman.

U. S. Army Veteran, served during the Korean Conflict. Operated Turman's TV service for many years. Owner and Operator of Southside Motors in Abbeville.

Husband of Emma Gordon Turman.

Mason and Member of Clinton Lodge #3AFM. Also a Shriner and member of the Hejaz Shrine Temple in Greenville, SC and was a member of Abbeville Presbyterian Church where he was a former Elder of the church.

Preceded in death by a sister, Frances McElrath.

Robert Lewis "Bobby" Turman, 78, resident of 99 Pinehurst St. husband of Emma Gordon Turman passed away peacefully March 24, 2010 at his home with his loving family by his side.

Born in Abbeville Co. SC he was a son of the late Capus Turman and Lucille Dunlap Turman.

Bobby was a US Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He operated Turman's TV service for many years. He was currently the owner and operator of Southside Motors in Abbeville.

He was a Mason and member of the Clinton Lodge # 3 AFM. He was also a Shriner and a member of the Hejaz Shrine Temple in Greenville, SC. and also a member of Abbeville Presbyterian Church where he was a former Elder of the church. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and his many friends especially his buddies at Southside Motors.

Survivors include his beloved wife Emma Gordon Turman of the home; 1 daughter Debbie Dewey and son-in-law Kim of Greenwood, SC.

He was preceded in death by a sister Frances McElrath.

Graveside services will be conducted Friday March 26, 2010 at 2:00 PM in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with Rev. Dr. Carol Strickland officiating. The family is at the home 99 Pinehurst St. Abbeville, SC.

The body is at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:00 PM Thursday evening.

Memorials in memory of Mr. Turman may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont 408 West Alexander Ave. Greenwood, SC 29646.
