Lucy and Leslie married on February 4th, 1922 in Sonoma County, CA. They had four children by 1940, when the last census is available. The children were Leslie Jr., 17, Margaret H., 14, Alice L., 9, and Thomas W., 1. The family lived on a farm valued at $2500. His parents lived in adjoining property w/daughter, Helen Crane, who was a public school teacher when the 1930 Census was taken. Leslie's mother, Martha "Mattie" d. 1934, and in 1940, Leslie's father had a live in housekeeper and a laborer "lodger" also in the home. He died in 1943.

Five of her siblings are buried at Santa Rosa Rural Cemetery.
