STUARTS DRAFT - Mrs. Anna Diehl Furr, 96, a resident of Augusta County, died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at Stuarts Draft Retirement Community.

A daughter of the late Arthur and Rebecca Long Diehl, she was born on May 12, 1917, in Rockingham County. She lived most of her life in the Barren Ridge community in Augusta County. She was a member of Barren Ridge Church of the Brethren.

She married Harold Furr, who preceded her in death on Feb. 6, 1994. Surviving are three sons, Harold Furr and wife, Nada Neskovic, of Bridgewater, George C. Hill and wife, Rumiko, of Hampton and Wayne Hill of Harrisonburg; five granddaughters; two grandsons; six great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Lester Unger of Pennsylvania; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by six sisters and two brothers.

Friends may view and sign the guest book after 12 noon on Friday, Nov. 8th at the Lindsey Weyers Cave Funeral Home where the family will receive friends later that evening from 7 until 8 pm.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Barren Ridge Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Galen Combs and Rev. Curtis Coffman officiating. Private burial will be in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Barren Ridge Church of the Brethren, 1790 Barrenridge Road, Staunton, VA 24401.
