Samuel Archer Butler married, Julia Ann Gill, 1847-1891, Chesterfield, VA. Feb. 25, 1867. They had 11 children, Curtis, Baby Girl, Adeline, Leroy, Isaiah, Anna, James, Robert, Ada, Alice and Beverly.
After her death he married Irene Elizabeth James on 9 Dec 1909 in Petersburg, Virginia.
Besides the three brothers listed below he had a brother, John, born about 1835, and a brother, Edward, born about 1838.
