Geneviev Mary Mijares, 78, passed away in Lake Havasu City Apr. 2. She was born on May 21, 1931, in Canton, Ohio, to Pete and Mary Fussillo.
Genny, as she was known to her family and friends, was raised in Ohio and resided in Southern California where she lived for many years before moving to Lake Havasu City in 1992. Genny was a true homemaker who enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved the Lord and touched many people's lives with her "Godly Wisdom." She tried to always stay positive in spite of all her earthly pain. Genny was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed and always loved.
Genny is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Bob, of Lake Havasu City; children, Sharon (Mike) Whiteside, of Lake Arrowhead, Calif., Bill (Nancy) Sylvester, Mark (Marie) Sylvester, and Tracy (John) Podboy, all of Lake Havasu City. She is also survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved so much.
A celebration of Genny's life will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, at Community Presbyterian Church, 3450 Chemehuevi.
Arrangements were handled by Lake Havasu Mortuary and Crematory.
