Astrid Madsen Abbot, 90, a retired registered nurse, of the Isle of Palms, died at her daughter's home on Wednesday, May 30, 2001, after a lengthy illness.

The memorial service will be 2 p.m., Friday, June 1, 2001, in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MT. PLEASANT CHAPEL. Interment will be at a later date in Forest Hill Cemetery, Utica, N.Y. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Mrs.Abbot was born in Utica, N.Y., a daughter of Jeppe and Anna Gabriel Madsen.

She graduated fro the Crouse-Irving Hospital School of Nursing in Syracuse. She was a member of DeWitt Community Church and a member of the Clara Fairbanks Circle at the church. She was an avid bridge player.

She was the widow of Curtis W.Abbott,who preceded her
in death in 1983.

She is survived by her daughter,Betsy Michaels of the Isle of Palms,a granddaughter,Amy (Shannon) Underwood of
Kansas City,Mo.,a grandson, Steven (Nicole) Michaels of Wando and her great grandchildren, Andrew,Steven, Savannah, and Sara Underwood and Charles Wesley Michaels.
