Joseph Tracy Coleman, Sr. was the son of
Joseph Tracy Coleman and Alvenia Grant Coleman Patterson. He was the father of Joseph Tracy Coleman, Jr; Michael Coleman; Mara Coleman; David Coleman; Annie Coleman (stepchild); Linda Coleman; and James Coleman. He had a grand-daughter, Reina Coleman, and several step-grandchildren. In the years since his death, five other grandchildren were born: David Coleman, Jr., Amber Coleman, Joshua Paulling, Lena Paulling, and Toni Coleman. In addition to his children and grandchildren, Joseph was survived by his second wife, Betty, who has now joined him in eternal rest. His first marriage was to the former Theresa Ann Conaway, with whom he had his first four children.
