Birth name Karen Gurine. Used the American Caroline but the family called her Carrie (Car-E). She was the mother of seven children. Her children were Caroline, Julia, J.Edman, Cora, Charles Teodore, William O., and Ovet Christine (named after her Grandmother Aavedt Kirstine).

Mrs. August Dahl, aged 72, died suddenly of diabetes at her home , 919 Third Street, this morning at 2:15 o'clock. Mrs. Dahl has been suffering with the disease a number of years buut only seriously ill one day. Funeral services for Mrs. August Dahl who died at her home on Third Street early last Thursday morning December 20th, the cause of death being diabetes, were conducted this afternoon at 10 o'clock at Olson's Undertaking parlors and 1:30 at th North Menomonie Lutheran Church. The Rev. A.Aaron Johnson officnt. Burial was made in Highland Cemetery.
Caroline Johnson was born in Dodge County 14th February, 1857 and came to Menomonie with her parents when a child. She was united in marriage to Torger Olson in October, 1873. To this union were born seven children, six whom survive. Mr. Olson died July2, 1903. Three years later she married August T. Dahl and resided in the Town of Menomonie until four years ago when they purchase heir home on Third Street.
Surviving are her husband and six children: Mrs. Adolph Swanson of Crows Landing, California, Mrs. Martin Gunderson of Monteca, California, J.E. Olson of Grants Pass, Oregon, Mrs. Carl Retlaff of Menomonie, William Olson of Myrthe Point, Oregon and Mrs. Henry Retlaff of Dallas. One son Charles Olson, died in 1906 at the age of nineteen years.
Five sisters and brothers, Mrs. Fred Dyson of Duluth, Mrs. Thomas Jacobson of Ridgeland, Charles Johnson of Rice Lake, Olaf Johnson and John C.(sic..John Peter) Johnson of the Town of Menomonie and 21 grandchildren also survive.
