Floyd Richards "Jim" Hilton passed away peacefully at home in American Fork, Utah with his loving wife by his side on March 30, 2010.

Jim was born at home in Pleasant Grove, Utah on June 18, 1934. He was born to Samuel Whitney and Lydia Allen Hilton, the youngest of seven children. Jim graduated from Pleasant Grove High School and then attended Brigham Young University and Weber State College where he majored in Business.

He married his childhood sweetheart, Joyce Remington on his birthday in 1953 in the Salt Lake Temple. Shortly after their marriage Jim was called to serve an LDS Mission to the Central Atlantic States mission.

Jim provided 42 years of outstanding service in the insurance industry starting with Metropolitan Life in Logan and Ogden. In 1975 he joined his brother Bob at GL Insurance in American Fork where he stayed until retiring in 2000. Although retired, Jim continued to serve the community with their insurance needs up to the day he passed.

His membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was a treasure to him and he was an example to many as he served in numerous callings. Some of his most memorable callings have included Branch President at the Missionary Training Center, Temple Ordinance Worker and any calling that involved the youth.

Jim's love for the Boy Scouts of America program started at a very young age. Jim, along with his father and five brothers have all received the rank of Eagle Scout. He has also received the Silver Beaver award. Jim's work with the scouting program in his ward has resulted in over 50 young men achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. He was presently serving on the Boy Scouts of America, Utah National Parks Council Executive Board.

Jim's hobbies include collecting coins, model cars and model fire engines.

Jim and his wife have been together for 57 wonderful years enjoying their time with their children and grandchildren.

Jim was a man of light, cheerfulness, loyalty, support and service. When Jim said he would do something, it was always done. He was a great friend to all and had a smile that he gave freely. We will all miss him.
