Mrs. Theresa Gray Ankum -- A native and lifelong resident of Latham, AL, born January 18, 1912 to the late Thomas and Nancy Gray, departed this life on Sunday, February 2, 2003 at a local hospital. She was a faithful member of the St. Luke Missionary Methodist Church, Latham, AL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Malachi Ankum, Sr.; son, Malachi Ankum, Jr.; daughter, Elouise Ankum; four brothers and three sisters. She leaves to cherish her memories a loving and devoted daughter, Mary (Ernest) Diggs, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; three granddaughters, Alice Smith, Brenda (Samuel) Williams and Frances Ankum, all of Latham, AL; one grandson, Harry (Annie) Burnette, Latham, AL; 14 great-grandchildren; one god-daughter, Sheila Broughton Howard of Italy; two sisters-in-law, Estelle Ankum, Pensacola, FL and Marcella Ankum, Colorado Springs, CO; other relatives and friends. Visitation will be at the Reese Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 5, 2003 from 4 to 6 p.m. Visitation will continue at the St. Luke Missionary Methodist Church, Latham, AL on Thursday, February 6, 2003 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service, Rev. J. R. Turner, Pastor and officiating minister. Interment will follow in the Latham Community Cemetery. Funeral arrangements by REESE FUNERAL HOME, 925 Bessemer Ave., Prichard, AL.
