In 1855 in Effingham County, she married Willard Mason ALLEN of Massachusetts, who died in 1857. In August of 1860, she was living in Savannah with the family of her sister, Julia ELKINS JENCKES; in 1880, she was a school teacher living in Whitesville (Guyton), Effingham County with her twice-widowed sister, Mozelle ELKINS BOURQUIN ZETTLER.
Abstract from Laurel Grove Cemetery Keepers Book: Lydia E. ALLEN died the 30th of January, 1894, and was buried the following day in Lot 929. She was a native of Georgia, aged 75 years, and a resident of Guyton, Ga.
