She was the daughter of Agrippa Phillips and Mary Catherine Pittman. She was the wife of O. W. Prevatte

Surviving Mrs. Prevatte are two sons, Eleary and Numa Prevatte of Lumberton, one daughter, Mrs. Oliver Taylor; 3 brothers, Mard Phillips of Fayetteville, Jessie and Robert Phillips of Lumberton; 4 sisters, Mrs. G.W. Barfield, Mrs. J.L. Phillips of Lumberton, Mrs. E.D. Hooks of Bladenboro, and Mrs. Joel Britt of St. Pauls; and 12 grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Rudolph Phillips, Edward Phillips, Hall Britt, Gordon Phillips, Riley Britt and Robert Britt.

Funeral services for Mrs. O.W. Prevatte, 76, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Oliver Taylor, were held Monday afternoon from the home. Rev George Wallace pastor, officiated. Burial was in the Phillips Cemetery. The church choir sang "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" and "Rock of Ages."
