W.J.BUMBARGER IS KILLED IN ITALY FIGHTING
Mr.& Mrs. Howard Bumbarger, of 810 Linden street, today recivied official notification from the War Department advising them that their son, Private William J.Bumbarger, was killed in action in Italy on January 31, no futher details were given in the telegram.
Pvt. Bumbarger, who was 19 years of age, attended the Clearfield Senior High School and was a member of the senior class when he was called into the armed forces on March 25, 1943.
He was trained at Fort McCellan Ala. and at Camp Rucker, Ala. prior to begin sent overseas during August of last year. Although he had been stationed in North Africa, the Italian Campaign was the first action in which he had taken part.

WILLIAM J. BUMBARGER KILLED IN ACTION
The War Department has offically notified Mr. & Mrs. Howard Bumbarger of 810 Linden Street, that their son Private William J. Bumbarger was killed in action in Italy on January 31.
Born on July 10, 1924 William attended school for then years without a day's absence. He was member of the senior class when he was called to active duty on March 25, 1943.
He was a part time employee of Mr. Melvin Dasiher of Clearfield for whom he worked in the auto repair shop.
He was inducted into the Infantry and sent to Fort McCuellan, Alabama, and from there he was moved to Camp Rucker, Alabama prior to begin sent overseas sometime in August, Pvt. Bumbager was classified as a mechanic of Infantry.

SERVICES FOR THREE AREA WAR DEAD LISTED
Miltary funeral services will be held this week for three area war dead whos bodies have been returned to this country from overseas for reinterment.
They are Pvt. William Bumbarger, son of Mr. & Mrs. Howard Bumbager of 810 Linden street, Clearfield, Cpl Fred L.Cieslar son of Mr.& Mrs. John Cielsar of Philipsburg R.D., and PFC.Charles Myers formerly of West Decatur son of Mr. & Mrs. Arnold Myers now of Washington DC
Services for Pvt. Bumbager who was killed in action on the Anzo beachhead in Italy January 31, 1944 will be held from Leavy Funeral Home Wednesday at 8:30 pm with interment in Hillcrest Cemetery.
He was inducted into the armed forces on March 21, 1943 and went overseas in September of that year. He served as amembe of the 7th Infantry Third Army. In the Afican Campaign and was transfered to Italy in November of 1943.
Born in Clearfield July 10,1924 he was a member of the graduting class of Clearfield High School at the time of induction in to the service for 1943.
