Note: this memorial first updated January 25, 2017 with DOB/DOD information and obituary transcription.

However, a State of Iowa death certificate posted to this memorial on May 7, 2017, raises issues about Mary's exact DOB and DOD, and where her parents were born. Headstone inscriptions, obituaries, and death records sometimes vary with certain details, and trying to reconcile them for a F/A/G memorial can be difficult.

The headstone inscription clearly shows the DOB/DOD years as 1844-1932. This memorial was updated, not sure from what source, on January 25, 2017 to have the DOB as Nov. 28, 1844 and the DOD as April 25, 1932. However, the death record evidently listed the DOB as being Nov. 28, 1843 and the DOD to be April 18, 1832.

Will use the death record dates for this memorial per new edit request, but with the caution that F/A/G does usually prefer inscription dates to be used even if wrong or otherwise in error, with the bio to explain the issue. That is so that someone posting memorials based on inscriptions won't duplicate memorials based on death records or other sources that may vary with that detail.

The death record also shows the birth locations for both parents to be Indiana, while their respective memorials (a/o May 8, 2017) list Ohio to be their birth locations.

MRS. MCCLURE DIED SUDDENLY

Funeral Services Were Held Wednesday At Richland

Many friends and neighbors were shocked Monday morning when news spread that Mrs. Mary Jane McClure had dropped dead at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ed. Kime. Mrs. McClure, who was 88 years of age on Nov. 28, 1931, was in her usual health when she retired but as her daughter and son-in-law were eating breakfast they heard a commotion in their mother's room and upon entering found she had dropped dead while dressing. A doctor was summoned at once but death had been instant and was caused by heart failure.

Besides her daughter Mrs. Ed Kine she leaves one son, Albert McClure, six grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. He husband who was a civil war veteran and a son Harry (sic. Harvey ???) preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at Richland and burial was made in the Richland cemetery beside her husband.
