OBITUARY Iron River Reporter June 27 1973 “Cora Meverden Dies, Was 90”
Cora E. Meverden, 90, died after a short illness on Wednesday, June 20 at the Iron County Medical Care Facility.
Mrs. Meverden was born May 2, 1883 in Brussells, Wis. She resided in Amasa from 1929 until 1956 when she and her husband moved to Iron River. For the last two and one-half years she was a patient at the facility. She was married to Walter Meverden in 1905 and he preceded her in death on March 4, 1963.
Surviving are two sons, Clyde, Iron River and Ralph, Lockport, Ill.; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
Funeral services were at Brooks Funeral Home Friday, June 22 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Frank Bishop, pastor of Christ United Methodist Church of Crystal Falls, officiating.
Pallbearers were William Paiter, Curtis Lindahl, Jerry Joseph, Frank Stebbins, Albino Webber and Harry Lunn.
Interment was in Resthaven Cemetery.
Brooks Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
