Dr. Ballew published a textbook, "Teaching Children Mathematics," and countless journal articles, but his true passion was inspiring future teachers. Dr. Ballew was a member of University United Methodist Church, an avid Tar Heel basketball fan, a talented tennis player and skier, and was a founding member of the UNC Faculty Club (The Farm).
