At the age of 102, Luella Martha Jane Pless, of London, went home to meet her Lord on Monday, December 28, 2009, at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center.
Born to the late A.M. and Elnora McKee Boster on December 27, 1907, in Fairview, Oklahoma, she was a member of the Mt. Carmel Cumberland Presbyterian Church, the Ladies Church Auxiliary, and the Pless E. H. Club. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ira D. Pless; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ruby and Harold Palmer and Faye and Bob White; two sons and a daughter-in-law, John V. Pless and Ira D. Jr. and Bobbie Pless; two granddaughters, Tonya Grigsby and Sandra Jones; two great-grandsons, Timmy Wells and Brian Andrews; two sisters, Thelma Maggard and Mildred Pigg; and two brothers, Otis Boster and Dorris Boster.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Carlton Bowden of Russellville; thirteen grandchildren: Jerry Helms, Jimmy Helms, Timothy Pless, Shawn Pless, Shannon Pless, Donald White, Myra Price, Rick Huhn, Pam Jones, Rodney Pless, Michael Pless, Karen Chansley, and Keith Bowden; thirty-two great-grandchildren, twenty great-great-grandchildren; two great-great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Percy Boster of London; a daughter-in-law, Maxine Pearce of Heber Springs; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2009, at Mt. Carmel Cumberland Presbyterian Church north of London with the Rev. Lynell Brooks officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.
Pallbearers will be Ted Boster, Tommy Metz, Larry Priebe, Verlon Priebe, Troy Waldo and Roger White.
Visitation will be from 5 – 7 on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
