Peter Filkins, who died at his home in Frontenac, June 21, 1916, was born in Schenectady, N.Y., July 24, 1853, being 62 years, ten months and 27 days old at the time of his death. He was married to Miss Sarah Hankenberry of Clay Center, Kas., July 29, 1877, and to this union was born seven children, four of whom are living. They are Mrs. Anna Jones of Hoisington, Kas., Mrs. Jessie Holmes of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs Ethel Westerlin and Harry Filkins of Frontenac. He is also survived by his widow, four sisters and three brothers. Interment was in Highland Park cemetery, and the funeral services were conducted by Rev. R. H. Royse, pastor of the Methodist church in Frontenac.
