Hallie Joyce Collins, 77, of Hughes Brown Rd., Stuart, died Thursday, January 6, 2000, at Patrick Community Hospital in Stuart. She was born May 30, 1922, in Stokes County, N.C., to the late Jesse J. and Dovie Hall Joyce. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Grady Franklin Collins; three sons, Kenneth Grady, Steven Woodrow and Roger Lee Collins; eight brothers and one sister. She was a member of Lawsonville Baptist Church for over 20 years.
Surviving are three daughters, Katherine McHone and Darlene Bowman, both of Lawsonville, and Inez James of Walnut Cove, N.C.; two sons, Billy Ray Collins of Stuart and Wilbert Collins of Sandy Ridge, N.C.; four sisters, Eva Martin of Sandy Ridge, Martha Boyd of Collinsville, and Jettie Atkins and Lucy Joyce, both of Lawsonville; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday at Lawsonville Baptist Church with the Revs. Donald McHone and Ed Hartman officiating. Burial was in the Joyce family cemetery in Lawsonville. Pallbearers were Randy McHone, Kevin Collins, Jason Fix, Mark Lawless, Bradley James and Billy Thomas.
